Goldilocks is being presented as part of the Leroy Anderson Centennial. The 100th Anniversary of Leroy Anderson's birth was celebrated on June 29, 2008. Orchestras, bands and performers around the world are making plans to participate in the celebration by presenting Centennial Concerts and Events during 2007, 2008 and 2009.
(Visit www.LeroyAnderson.com for a schedule of all planned events.) Goldilocks tells the tale of a conniving movie director who tricks his leading lady into finishing her contract just when she is about to be married. The show opened on October 11, 1958 – starring Elaine Stritch and Don Ameche – and played through February 28, 1959, winning Tony Awards for Russell Nype (Best Featured Actor in a Musical) and Pat Stanley (Best Featured Actress in a Musical). This 30th Anniversary concert presentation will present three songs that were cut from the original production: “Tagalong Kid,” “Little Girls Should Be Seen,” and “My Last Spring.” |
| Mona Stangley - the heroine of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas - is brought back into the cathouse business by Terri Clark, an eager IRS agent looking to pay the back taxes on an abandoned whorehouse. But they've got her weasly boss and a mean ol' Southern senator trying to stop them. This rollicking sequel opened on Broadway in May 1994 and played for 23 performances.

| FLORA, THE RED MENACE is a musical set in 1935, a time when many young idealists thought Communism could lead America out of the Depression and into a better world. It’s a story about a young woman determined to make it in New York, whose love for a radical WPA artists leads her to join the Communist Party. This was the first collaboration between John Kander and Fred Ebb, written in 1965. Like Cabaret and Chicago, it features a headstrong heroine with passion and idealism, and has a strong dose of political content. FLORA, THE RED MENACE opened on Broadway at the Alvin Theatre on May 11, 1965 and ran for 87 performances. At 19 years of age, Liza Minnelli won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Flora. A revised version appeared off-Broadway in 1987. |

"Imagining Brad" has been with me for a long time. I saw a production almost 9 years ago that struck me so deeply I am now exploring it as a director. When I re-read it I remembered very little of the performances, content or physical structure of the play, but I did recall how I felt when the curtain came down and it was my turn to allow this journey to play on my mind. I was extremely disturbed... yet touched. This is not a play about victims. It is a play about real people. Survivors. And overall, it is a play about finding love and friendship in the most unlikely of circumstances. "Imagining Brad" speaks of the many levels of humanity. Good and bad. You may love this play or you may hate it. Maybe you will feel both. But you will find it hard to feel indifferent.
